Three Little Chickpeas

Allie loves cooking and wants to share her simple plant-based meals with her readers. She grew up in Georgia with weight and health issues. Her family was used to eating the standard American diet, full of steak, potatoes, and very few vegetables.

Allie was obese at this point, and because of her son, she had the drive to be a healthier version of herself. She lost weight the old way by drastically cutting calories and exercising like crazy to get the pounds off. After that, she discovered the food documentary Forks Over Knives, which changed how she sees food and started her drive to learn more about the whole food plant-based diet through many books and documentaries. Although she was very skeptical at first, she was shocked after watching Forks Over Knives.

This was a big change Allie was about to make for her family, so she loaded up on information. Since going plant-based, Allie has lost the original 59 pounds and then some without counting calories. She lowered her blood pressure, has more energy to play with her son, improved her relationship with food, and hasn't had a sinus infection since she stopped eating dairy.

This is Allie's journey to improve her family's health. They're not perfect, but at least they're vegan. The purpose of this blog is to grow the plant-based community and provide simple, family-friendly, plant-based meals. They can thrive together and do a little better every day. Eating real food doesn’t have to be expensive or hard.
