Michelle is as well as the founder, creator, and photographer behind this blog. She is a Certified Nutritional Practitioner, graduating with honors from the Institute of Holistic Nutrition. Driven by her passion for natural elements and subtle energies, she holds certifications in Elemental and Hatha Yoga, along with various modalities of Energy Medicine. Despite her natural creative flair and lifelong love for photography, Michelle's journey into the realm of food began when she took charge of her health, overcoming digestive issues, food sensitivities, and hormonal imbalances.

A small-town Canadian girl, Michelle spent her formative years on thirty acres of rural Ontario land, where her connection to nature blossomed. When not tending to her blog, she can be found indulging her passion for healthy cooking, gardening, DIY projects, or enjoying the outdoors with her beloved pets, Odie and Magnolia Mae.

Founded in 2018, Beet of the Wild is Michelle McCowan's brainchild, dedicated to sharing healthy, seasonal recipes and homemaking how-tos. Inspired by the five-element theory and rooted in nature, the blog aims to inspire conscious living and a return to the natural world. With a focus on infusing ancient wisdom into modern life, Beet of the Wild seeks to promote healthy, vibrant, and mindful living, resonating with the wild spirit within each individual.
