Let me tell you a bit more about Ann's recipes and the food philosophy she follows on this blog. Ann has struggled with her digestive health through the majority of her childhood, youth, and early twenties. If she ever gets an upset tummy now, she realizes how almost immediately she feels sluggish and lethargic. This is not just physically but also mentally. Ann looks back and sometimes wonders how she ever survived being on this constant roller coaster of exhaustion.
There are so many factors that are at play here and can influence everyday well-being. Food is one of them, but exercise, sleep, and stress can also be huge contributors. What it does mean though is that Ann has become passionate. Passionate about making delicious, healthy recipes that nourish someone’s body and allow them to strive.
Ann strongly believes that there is not one diet out there that can be universally applied to everyone. You need to eat and do what is right for you. As people evolve and go through life, dietary choices and lifestyles will also likely adapt and change. All of the recipes on this blog are vegetarian and include plenty of fruit and vegetables mainly because that is the way Ann cooks at home due to her family’s preferences. Where possible, she will include options to accommodate a recipe to make it vegan, paleo, or even keto.
Ann aims to write her recipes in simple language and where necessary, she will include pictures of process steps so that everyone can follow along, even people who are just starting. She loves cooking but she does not like to spend hours in the kitchen. Most of her recipes are quick to make, and she usually writes her instructions so that you can work in parallel with the cooking process going on.
As said above, no labels on this blog. It is meant to be a judgment-free place where people can come, enjoy, and hopefully find inspiration and delicious recipes for their kitchen. There are two things that you will not find here though: Refined sugar in recipes, and gluten. To keep it simple in this context, both of these can negatively impact your health, especially if your digestive tract is already compromised. The recipes are 100% delicious.
