Rodney curates the site. In 2013, his brother-in-law Chris convinced him to tag along on a disc golf round with Chris while Rodney was on a family vacation. Chris had played for over ten years and was pretty good, so it was extremely fun for Rodney to watch him and attempt to emulate his form along the way. They played a very technical course, much different from a normal golf course that Rodney was so familiar with the "fairway" was full of trees, and there was never a straight line to the hole.
He now plays as often as he can, hitting the local school and park for fieldwork, and he even has a practice basket in his basement. Besides this, he is a scratch golfer (the one involving a ball) and competes in several local golf events, so they haven't entered any disc golf tournaments yet. However, they believe that will be changing soon as they have been consistently improving and expect to shoot around par or better at most courses they play. Their drives now reach around 350', which is very enjoyable, but they truly relish the upshots and putting aspect of the sport.
Rodney really likes the single-lever concept of push-putting, but the individual finds it slightly difficult to execute, especially at longer distances. So, their putting style can be described as a smush putt. Essentially, it's a two-lever putting style with both levers working in a line toward the target. Playing several technical courses early on forced them to learn how to straddle putt.
