I purchased this drive couple of years back, in late 2021. The intention behind this SSD was to use it as my primary driver to keep my documents and files that I use on daily basis or quite often. Since I don't keep whole lots of files on that drive, even 500GB seemed way much more than what I needed.

People tend to get a bit surprised by the fact that I don't use M.2 SSD for similar purpose which are way faster than any SATA based SSD drive. Even though they are a bit pricier, I still think SATA SSD is the way to go to store data. I do not need any super fast read-write operations there anyway. Perhaps the biggest reason behind choosing a SATA SSD over an Nvme drive is that they tend to run much cooler. Although I know for fact that SATA drive consumed more power over M.2 based drives.
Another important fact that I had to take it in consideration is that, my system board do not have any secondary M.2 slot to begin with. Unlike many high end gaming motherboards where you would often see more than one M.2 slot, my motherboard had only one. So, I didn't had any choice either. Bare in mind though, that is not a justifiable reason behind using SATA SSD drive at all rather a pure coincidence. Hope that makes some sense.

I am still using this drive on my computer and almost three years later, I think I am in a position to draw a conclusion on this particular drive. I must admit, I have zero complain about this drive. I recently ran the "winsat" command to get some information and here is what I have got.
Random 16.0 Read | 1.44 MB/s |
---|---|
Sequential 64.0 Read | 339.03 MB/s |
Sequential 64.0 Write | 432.46 MB/s |
Avg. Read time with Sequential Writes | 0.182 ms |
Latency 95th Percentile | 0.548 ms |
Latency Maximum | 15.825 ms |
Avg. Read Time with Random Writes | 0.190 ms |
This not the specs of any impressive drive and I get that but the purpose of this drive wasn't to be impressive rather to be reliable. Indeed this is a reliable drive and I am more than happy to have one of this.
