Remove Metadata from MP3 Files

One bad thing about downloading MP3 musics from various online sources is that in most cases it comes with lots of unnecessary (urls, cover photo etc.) metadata. Transferring those musics on your favorite MP3 player not only reveals those information but sometimes it's down right irritating. Following few simple and easy steps can help you to clean your music tracks before your transfer them to your music player. Today in this post, I will discuss just that. Here we go.

Removing Metadata from MP3 File

Step 1: Take the cursor on the top of the track and press right button of your mouse. Select Properties. Make sure "Read-only" attributes has been unchecked from the "General" tab.

Step 2: Now, from the Properties window click on "Details" tab and look the text that says "Remove Properties and Personal Information" text. It should be located right above the "OK" and "Cancel" button. Click on it.

Step 3: Remove Properties Windows should appear (Screenshot Provided Below). Now select the option that says, "Remove the following properties from this file:". Now, in order to remove all the metadata, simply click "Select All" button or to remove any specific meta data, manually check the metadata box and click "OK".

All or selected portion of the metadata should be removed depending on the options you chose earlier. Yes, you can apply this method to multiple files at once. Enjoy your music.

Note: Please note that the procedure mentioned above may or may not remove certain type of metadata. In such case, you can always turn to software to get your job done. You can try ID3Kill for removing metadata from mp3 files located within a folder or simply use ID3Remover for individual or selected number of mp3 files.
