Over the last two decade, I think I bought close to a dozen of domain name. Unfortunately most of them didn't last for long. Could be a year or two or may be little longer than that but eventually I tend to find something wrong with my very own domain name that I really liked at some point in the past. Overnight, it becomes so irritating that I had to give up quite a few domain name that had fairly good traffic (well, for me at least).
I mean, we all know how hard it is now a days to get thousands of visitors to a tech based blog site. It's not even a community blog site or something of that sort. It was operated by me, a nameless faceless dude on the internet. During my college years, I was writing pretty much whenever I could but now it is a very different time. More and more people are moving towards video logs on the internet.
However, I can not deny the fact that I still have the same passion for blogging and I will continue to write as much as I can. Even though I run a small YouTube channel but that is not something serious, not yet. I am much more comfortable with writing than sitting in front of a camera to talk about things. I hope that makes sense to some.
I don't know what it is but there is something about my domain names that bothers me a lot. I think I always picked up the wrong one and regretted later on after spending months and years building a site from ground up. Then again, there are few domain names that I still hold and I do not regret a bit for not using them at all. I have some other plans for the future. So, hopefully that would become more useful down the line.
Today, I ended up buying this ".dev" domain name. It's been quite sometime since I was thinking about this and waited patiently for June 1st. Nothing special about it, it just happens to be the somewhat middle of the year and that's about it. I used .net and .us domain names before but eventually I lost my interest and started searching for something that I would like to have.
Let's see how far I can go with this new domain name. Wish me luck with that.
