Rain Floods New York City

We just passed a week full of rain. Generally speaking, we don't get to see that much rain over here in New York City and most probably the city wasn't even built around to cope with such amount of rain either. Then again, it is not the first time when the city had to deal with the flood water.

As far as I can remember, back in 2021 we had similar situation when the city faced Hurricane Ida. The intensity of the downpour was much more than we were ready for. Subway tunnels, roads, basement of many houses were flooded back then. This time around, it was no different.

Yesterday was the last working day of September for me. The night before when I went to bed, it was raining and when I woke up in the morning the rain continued pretty much throughout the day. I received several emergency alert on my phone and eventually learned that Governor declared "State of Emergency across New York City" and surrounding areas.

I am not all too surprised but definitely wasn't preparing for such a day either. By now, the rain has stopped and things are slowly getting back to normal. In many parts of the City there are still flood waters and people are working to get back to normalcy. I am doing fine and I hope you all out there are slowly recovering as well, specially who are seriously affected by this heavy rainfall.
