I worked through last and literally went to bed this morning. So, when I woke up this evening I was quite hungry. Instead of preparing something for myself, I decided to step out to try out something from the nearest South Asian restaurant in my neighborhood. I ate at that restaurant before so I pretty much knew what to expect yet I went there regardless.
The Pakshala is very close to my house and they are run by Bengali people. Their main store is fairly small and not enough space is there for more than a dozen people. Recently they extended their space and rented another location nearby for larger gatherings. So, I went there and ordered Naan bread, omelette and chana dal. They offered some salad with my order as well which was a nice touch.
The freshly made breads were very good and I thoroughly enjoyed their food. The only thing that I missed was my coke. Some how they didn't had any regular coke available at that time when I was there but I had it at home so that wasn't a big issue. Overall it was a good experience and I am definitely going back there again at some point whenever I feel like trying some South Asian food.
Not so surprisingly, today our office was closed as the nation celebrates the birth day of Martin Luther King Jr. which is a Federal holiday. We are also welcoming Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States which I am very happy about. What particularly makes me feel good about President Trump is that he was born in Queens, my beloved borough of New York City. Wishing him all the very best on this occasion and hope the nation will get back on track under his leadership. Good luck Mr. President.
