Seeing through the Internet

Although now a days it's not all that popular, I still use RSS Feed reader on my computer and subscribed to as many news based sites as I could. I tend to check the feed updates as much as I can and skim through various news. I mean I am not saying this is part of my daily routine but may be I do it quite often than it is necessary perhaps.

For the past few months or even years for that matter, I was keeping my eyes on the important world events. Pretty much gobbling up all the important news (to me at least) and I was (still am) simply trying to understand where we stand as human race and where exactly we are heading towards. In this time and age, things are changing very fast and it's not quite easy to keep track of everything, especially for individuals with fairly mediocre brain like mine.

Indeed, the internet brought endless opportunities for many us but at the same time it made us much more restless. We are constantly being bombarded with new information, made it much more difficult for us to pay attention to any specific issue. The world became more like a global village. What's happening half a world away is being known to the people from the opposite side of the world instantly. It is both good and bad. Perhaps the ugly part is, there are so much false information out there that it's almost impossible to believe anything at first glance.

Human race recovered from the fairly recent COVID-19 only to face other global challenges. To think that we are done with the pandemic would be foolish. We need to stay vigilant and be cautious about this. Another pandemic may be just around the corner, if we are taking it too lightly.

Perhaps the biggest challenge for us now is to stop all the ongoing wars. It's been couple of years now since we are dealing with Russia-Ukraine war with no end in sight. Middle-East is keep getting hotter every day. This endless violence and loss of life is a shame for us. Even in 21st century we couldn't stop all these madness through dialogues. I don't know how peace can prevail if we continue to shed bloods.

Then we got the climate change issues which are far more devastating reality throughout the world. Many parts of the world are seeing major floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions so on and so forth. Unless we get ourselves together and focus on nature instead of fighting among ourselves, I don't see ourselves overcoming this one.

My understanding may not paint any clear picture to you but things are not looking bright through my lenses. As a human being I want to be optimistic but I barely see any optimism around me or may be it's just me who got no clue what exactly I am talking about. May be we are just going insane right before our demise. Only time will tell the tale. Peace.
