Strip building is the boat-building method where0 long, narrow wooden strips are glued together over a temporary form. The canoe is then covered both inside and outside with fiberglass cloth and epoxy. This laminate makes the wooden canoe strong and waterproof.

The combination of cedar wood with fiberglass-epoxy results in a very strong, rigid, and lightweight construction. Wooden canoes are exceptionally stiff, allowing for highly efficient energy transfer. Moreover, they are easy to repair and virtually indestructible when treated and maintained properly.

Handcrafted canoes are unfortunately more expensive than their mass-produced counterparts because they are labor-intensive to build. On average, we spend about three months on each boat.

However, This is the blog curated by both Emiel and Bart. Anyone who has ever paddled in a well-designed wooden canoe will tell you that there is no comparison. They possess an elegance on the water that is unparalleled.
