Horse Rookie is a site dedicated to helping equestrians of all levels, especially beginners, answer their common questions, make informed decisions, and have more fun with their horses. It’s the kind of resource Nicole wished she'd had when she finally purchased her first horse.
Nicole began taking horse riding lessons at age six. More than 35 years later, she’s still in the saddle and is more obsessed with equestrian sports than ever. Her young rider background was in dressage, which she still loves. As an adult, she has gained experience in stadium jumping, eventing, working equitation, trail riding, reining, cutting, and roping. There’s always more to learn, so she started Horse Rookie.
She’s enjoyed riding in four countries, from galloping the beaches of Costa Rica to eventing in lush green Ireland. When she’s home, she hones her skills by taking 2-3 lessons per week, schooling 3-4 times weekly, showing occasionally, and attending at least 5 riding clinics yearly.
