Cupcakes and Couscous

Teresa welcomes her visitors to her foodie happy place on the web. She is a passionate foodie, blogger, freelance writer and recipe developer, enthusiastic chocolate eater, prolific baker, busy mom, and proud Capetonian. Here in this blog, she shares her favorite family recipes as well as some new creations.

She hails from the beautiful city of Cape Town in South Africa. Her passion for food started at a very early age, and she has many fond memories of baking mince pies and biscuits over the Christmas school holidays, her grandmother’s famous apple pie and custard, her mum’s muesli slowly baking in the oven, plum jam bubbling on the stove, and Monday night roast chicken being enjoyed with homemade gravy. That is where her food journey started, and she has been baking and cooking ever since.

As part of her work, she had daily dealings with the store's suppliers most of whom delivered exquisite handmade goods. She would often dream about setting up her own small business doing the same thing, and after a brainwave, she approached the owners of the store with an idea for a product she could produce and supply. They agreed, and over the next few years, her product range grew from one to several lines, including handmade chocolate truffles and iced tea.

Her goal here at Cupcakes and Couscous is to spread the foodie love and inspire readers to get back into their kitchens. She will be sharing some of her tried and trusted recipes, tweaked and perfected over the years that she hopes will inspire you to get cooking too.
