Joanie is a food photographer, cook, and recipe writer. She lives in Phoenix, Arizona, where she works as a commercial food photographer. She started this blog to share the tried-and-true recipes that she loves to prepare for friends and family. She also shares her everyday weeknight favorites that fall in line with her love of low-carb, plant-based foods.

Her photography business wouldn’t have happened had she not been food-obsessed since childhood. She didn’t grow up in a foodie household, but when she was 10 years old, she asked her mom if she could make Tandoori Chicken. She’s been cooking ever since.

The recipes you’ll find here are well-tested. She does not want to give you a recipe that won’t work in your kitchen. These are made for your average American household. She does love some fancy ingredients, but at the end of the day, it’s the cozy comfort foods and family favorites that win every time. And she has modified some of the family favorites that have been handed down to her to omit some of the processed food items.
