The inception of this blog dates back to 2019, envisioned as a comprehensive food hub for all. Offering an eclectic mix of recipes spanning from swift and budget-friendly classics to reinvented traditional dishes with contemporary twists, as well as desserts destined to leave diners swooning, the blog invites readers to embark on a culinary love affair.

Contrary to conventional culinary origins rooted in familial kitchens, Ieva's culinary journey took a unique path. While she didn't inherit cooking wisdom from her grandmother or mother, her upbringing was still steeped in culinary delight. Her father's mastery of potatoes in various forms and her mother's fondness for sushi laid the groundwork for her culinary curiosity. When she entered her teenage years, she had an unexplained impulse to make her favorite takeout and café meals again. She accepted her newfound love for veggies, was amazed at the alchemy of wheat and water producing a divine loaf of bread, and delighted in the transformational potential of spices.

Ieva, who was passionate about cooking and had a strong affinity for cheese, met Seb while she was in her early twenties. In addition to treating her palate to fine cheeses, her time working as a Cheese Specialist at Fortnum & Masons during her time in college greatly expanded her gastronomic horizons. But what sparked her passion for cooking was her exposure to Yotam Ottolenghi's culinary philosophy while she was employed at one of his delis in London. Ottolenghi's innovative approaches to vegetable-centric dishes and the myriad of ingredients he introduced her to left an indelible mark, shaping the essence of this blog. Today, nestled in a cozy home kitchen in North Wales, UK, Ieva, Seb and their golden retriever Sawyer form a harmonious trio dedicated to sharing their culinary escapades with the world.
