Laureen created Art and the Kitchen in 2012 as a way to share many great, tried, and true recipes. Her collection of recipes includes family favorites and those special recipes handed down from her Mom, Grandma, and friends. Her recipes range from good old homestyle cooking to exquisite gourmet meals.
Her late Grandmother is the person who inspired her the most. She was a lady of simple means, lived on a farm, grew an enormous garden, baked the most delicious bread, and grew the most beautiful flowers. Her Mom was also a great inspiration to her. She was an amazing baker and, on her blog, visitors will find many of her sweet recipes.
She is also an artist and enjoys decorative painting, but dabbles in all kinds of mediums. Another passion of hers is gardening. She has an exquisite collection of lilies and roses in her garden. She hopes that her visitors will enjoy her journey of sharing old and new recipes here at this blog.
