UGREEN Nexode GaN Charger CD319

Last night, I was charging one of my power bank with this charger and suddenly it exploded right in front of my eyes. The power bank was lying on top of my table next to my monitor. The charger was barely three or four feet away from me connected to a wall outlet. There were no smoke, no foul smell or anything of that sort but there is a minor physical burn damage at the bottom of the charger.

I am not quite sure what exactly went wrong but now I have a useless USB-C charger lying around only to be thrown at the garbage. I am not rushing out to buy another new charger right now as I have few other options available as a backup but I just can not wrap my head around with the idea that it literally exploded. I mean, I have been using it for few months now. I also have Apple iPad charger at home and they are still functional as they were from the very beginning.

I used number of UGREEN products in the past and I am still using some of them. I used various adapters, cables, enclosures so on and so forth of this particular brand. Over the years, I became a huge admirer or perhaps you can call me a fan of their products simply because they are a bit cheaper, has vast product catalog, got good product design, positive user feedback in online marketplaces and most importantly they are functional.

I believe their products are available all over the world. So, when I came to visit Bangladesh almost a year back, I was not surprised to see some of their products also available in the local Bangladeshi marketplaces as well. So, couple of months back I purchased one of their Nexode mini 30W USB-C PD wall charger to power up some of my devices and to recharge two of my power banks that I brought along with me. I must admit, the charger served it's purpose pretty well until yesterday.
